Supplement 26C: The 4-Stroke Ruff | Part 2 of 3

The 4-stroke ruff, also called the single-stroke four, is played hand-to-hand — meaning you need to lead equally well with either hand. Accents follow the same rule as always: they require the appropriate prep motion, and while an accent can fall on any of the four notes, the first or last is most typical (Supplement 26C). Practice leading with both right and left hands for optimum control.
