Supplement 26D: Hand And Foot Combinations | Part 3 of 3
The technique for these 3-note exercises depends entirely on tempo — use the leg for slow tempos and the ankle motion for fast ones. The double-stroke motion requires a fast prep, which may keep the heel slightly up off the floor on the downstrokes (Supplement 26D). The hi-hat plays the beat while the bass drum plays single and double notes; use the appropriate motions, with sticking and voicing left up to you.
