Supplement 39A: 4-Note Grouping in 4/4 (Variation #5) | Part 1 of 4

This variation places the second pair of notes in the bass drum, sequenced through the familiar quarter-note-to-32nd-note progression (triplet included). Keep the group’s first note in view so the downbeat stays clear. Note that at a certain point in the sequence, the two bass drum notes require a shift from leg strokes to ankle-down strokes — stay alert for that transition as you move through the note values.
