The higher number of single strokes in Category 5 sticking means more flams to execute cleanly here, which raises the challenge. Keep the grace notes low, use the right prep motion for each accent, and stay relaxed at a tempo you can control. Voicing the flam’s principal notes is encouraged once things feel secure, with the bass drum supporting any cymbal voicing to help coordination.
