Supplement 36C & 36D: Hand-to-Hand and Category 5 Sticking in 4/4 with Ostinatos | Part 3 of 3

Category 5 sticking is five single strokes followed by any number of doubles or diddles, with the smallest grouping landing at 7 notes, then 9, 11, and beyond. Any of the single strokes can be accented while the doubles stay soft and unaccented. Once both sticking types are controlled on the snare, start voicing the accents on the toms and cymbals with bass drum support — and layer in an ostinato of your choosing to build independence between hands and feet, picking whichever one you can control best.
