Supplement 17E: Flam Exercises | Part 3 of 4
As a reminder, the flam is a two-note figure — a principal note preceded by a grace note — where the prep motion (Moeller or wrist) depends on the sticking involved, and applied accents still require proper preparation. These exercises apply the flam, including the rudiments from the previous lesson, to a variety of rhythmic patterns. Follow the sticking carefully, work on placing the grace note just before the principal note, and keep the grace note low (Supplement 17E).
