Playing 1

This course will teach you your fundamental grooves, which can be added to your bag of tricks and used both on the bandstand and in the studio.
Adam Kuns has been a professional educator and performer for 20 years. He holds a Jazz Studies degree from California State University, Northridge and has studied with Gregg Bissonette, Alex Acuña, Chad Wackerman, Dick Weller, and Dave Elitch. In addition to his drum set experience, he has taught and arranged with many DCI, WGI and high school marching programs such as Dark Sky Percussion, Watchmen, Catalyst Percussion, Velvet Knights, and Royal High School. He has been a staff instructor for Drum Channel since 2013.

In this course, we will take a look at some essential styles that are commonly played and some ways you can master the idiosyncrasies of each one. These are meant to be learned by spending considerable time on each groove and style, so make sure to take it slow and methodically.
