This variation keeps the 3-note group but moves the bass drum to the second and third positions, so pay attention to when your kick motion needs to shift from a leg stroke to an ankle-down stroke and back as the note values climb from quarter notes to 32nds and return. Sticking stays optional here — get comfortable with the sequence first, then start voicing the notes around the kit.
