Flams get layered onto the hand-to-hand and combined Category 3 and 4 phrases here, which continues building your flam control while reinforcing the sticking combinations from the last lesson. Voice the flam’s principal note around the kit, and when you move an accent to a cymbal, support it with the bass drum using a flat flam rather than an open one. Keep the tempo increasing gradually once the timekeeping feels solid.
