Supplement 42A: 4-Note Grouping in 4/4 (Variation #8) | Part 1 of 3

This variation places the first and fourth notes of the group in the bass drum, sequenced through the usual quarter-note-to-32nd-note progression. Keep the tempo steady as you move between note values — you can also isolate any single note value and practice the 4-note sequence on its own, or use it as a fill idea over a groove, which starts to show how directly these exercises apply to real playing.
