These 2-bar accent phrases keep developing proper hand motion, with the added accents giving more voicing options — stay aware of which motion each accent type calls for, and once comfortable, start voicing on the kit with bass drum support under any cymbal accents.
Category 4 sticking (four single strokes followed by any number of doubles, in groups of 6, 8, 10 and up) gets the same 2-bar treatment. Once you’re comfortable with the sticking, layer in one or more foot ostinatos, again focused on upper/lower body coordination and a smooth rhythmic flow.
