Supplement 27D: Hand And Foot Combinations As 2-Beat Triplets | Part 4 of 4
The technique for these examples depends on tempo — slow-to-medium tempos use the leg motion, faster tempos use the ankle-down motion. Consecutive double strokes need a rapid prep motion, so it isn’t necessary to bring the heel all the way to the floor on the downstroke, though the ankle-down motion is still used for all doubles; these examples treat the triplet note value as a 2-beat phrase (Supplement 27D). If the tempo is slow, consecutive leg motions may be used; otherwise use the ankle-down motion for consecutive foot notes, and use a metronome to track your progress.
