Breaking Down a Song

Elise Trouw is a multi-instrumentalist, meaning she plays all of the instruments. In this series of lessons, you’ll learn about song structure, and she’ll teach you the beats and fills she plays and where she uses them in the song. You’ll see how your drumming can influence a song. One lesson focuses on the 6-stroke roll, a favorite of hers and many drummers. These three short lessons contain important information for playing with tracks or a band. The fourth lesson features Elise talking about one of her favorite drummers, showing how she was inspired and what might inspire you.
