ABOUT DON LOMBARDI

Drummer, teacher, founder of Drum Channel and DW Drums and owner of more than 30 design patents, over the past 50 years Don Lombardi created the drums, pedals and hardware that are played by today’s top professionals.

Along the way, Don also had the opportunity to develop close friendships with many of the world’s greatest drummers and teachers. He now brings his knowledge and experience to a series of one-on-one interviews with drumming icons and idols on the Drum Channel series, “Lombardi Live!”

Billy Amendola is known well for not only his 25 year tenure at Modern Drummer Magazine, but also his stellar drumming career!

Within Billy’s Music History Podcast library, you’ll find incredible episodes featuring a diverse array of the world’s greatest musicians, including Wolfgang Van Halen, Joe Vitale, John “JR” Robinson, Virgil Donati… and our fearless leader, Don Lombardi too!

Metronome

The metronome gives you the foundations of a standard metronome. The Practice Assist Metronome™ has all the features of a standard metronome, plus the patented Practice Assist feature that makes you go faster. It also remembers where you left off. The default settings can be customized to whatever you want. You should always start at a speed that is comfortable and relaxed. Check out the video to learn more.

In this excerpt from his Drum Channel course Frontiers of Composition and Articulation, he explains how his “De Slagwerker” solo became an exploratory space for improvisation, curiosity, and musical discovery.
