Supplement 46D: The Flam Stutter | Part 3 of 3
A flam stutter is essentially a flammed diddle — an accented double stroke preceded by a grace note, known in the drum corps world as a “cheese.” Only the first note of the diddle carries the accent; the second is a controlled rebound, so stay loose rather than stiff as you execute it. Follow the sticking closely, and once it feels comfortable, try voicing the idea around the drum set for a different color.
