Supplement 40A: 4-Note Grouping in 4/4 (Variation #6) | Part 1 of 3

This variation places the second and third notes of the group in the bass drum, sequenced through the same quarter-note-to-32nd-note progression. The goal is smooth transitions from one note value rate to the next without losing the underlying 4/4 structure as each segment repeats — and, as with the other bass-drum variations, expect a shift from leg strokes to ankle-down strokes partway through.
