Today, as we continue to celebrate the contributions of African-American drummers during Black History Month, we're saluting funk drumming innovator Zigaboo Modeliste. Zig's drumming with the The Meters on "Cissy Strut", "Hey Pocky A-Way" and other hits is pocket playing at its finest. In this 2-hour, 4-part documentary (INCLUDED WITH DC MEMBERSHIP) he talks about his life and demonstrates the essence of the "New Orleans" funk drumming sound and feel.
