Derek is most widely known as a phenomenal, extreme speed drummer in the Death Metal community, keeping up his astonishing speed for minutes on end. Performing with such bands as Hate Eternal, Malevolent Creation, Aurora Borealis, Divine Empire and others. However, Derek's drumming talent isn't relegated to Metal alone as his technically refined drumming style spans from Jazz to Blues to Rock with a constant drive to better oneself, the will to control his playing and eagerness to explore and sometimes expand the boundaries in music.
