Biography

Scott Underwood most recently served as the drummer for the band Train, which started as a two-man operation with Patrick Monahan and Rob Hotchkiss. After performing in local clubs and coffee shops, they decided to recruit more members to flesh out the band. Scott joined at the same time as Jimmy Stafford and Charlie Colin. Unable to get a record contract right away, they devoted themselves to a brutal cross country touring regimen and opened for the Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows.

Still unable to secure corporate funding, Train made the difficult decision to finance their self-titled debut album themselves. Upon hearing the record, Columbia almost immediately offered Train a deal. Their single, "Meet Virginia," became a huge hit across the nation on alternative rock stations and bolstered the albumís sales.

Train enjoyed incredible success, until 2006ís For Me, Itís You failed to gain gold status. Since then, the band has been mostly dormant with only frontman Pat Monahan pursuing side projects.
