Biography

Preston Thrall has performed with the Gregg Allman Band, The East Bay All Stars, and, most recently, the Alameda All Stars.

After performing live together for some time, Preston Thrall recorded with Gregg Allman, Tommy Thompson, Tom Miller, and Mark McGee on Allman’s Searching for Simplicity album in 1997. Preston Thrall also performed with Gregg Allman on the album, No Stranger to the Dark: The Best of Gregg Allman.

The Alameda All Stars, the Bay Area’s longest-running rock & roll group, celebrated their twenty-fifth year reunion in March 2005. Led by Tommy Thompson, almost forty members (past and present) performed together. The current line-up includes Tommy Thompson (Gregg Allman Band), Tom Miller (Gregg Allman Band), Mark McGee (Gregg Allman Band), Preston Thrall (Gregg Allman Band), Brad Gillis (Night Ranger), Dan Chauncey (.38 Special), and Marke “Jellyroll” Burgestahler (Gregg Allman Band, Eddie Money Band).

In 2005, the Alameda All Stars recorded a four song promotional CD which was mixed by Preston’s brother, Pat, and produced by Mark McGee. They recorded the tracks live with no additional instruments added.
