Biography

Growing up in Ajax, Ontario, and then bursting out onto the pop punk rock scene is becoming not too uncommon these days. Matthew Brann's story is similar. Matt Brann is best known as Avril Lavigne’s drummer from 2002 to 2007.

Matt Brann has been drumming since about age fifteen.  Matt Brann also happened to be friends with, and attend school alongside, members of Sum 41.  Matt Brann was even in a band called Norman with Sum 41’s bassist, Cone McCaslin.

Though he’s no longer with Avril Lavigne’s band, you can be sure we’ll be hearing from this energetic, hard-hitting drummer fairly soon.
