Basic Background Info
Marc Allen is the former drummer for the band Counterfit. The band started out in Fairfield County, Connecticut, but moved to San Diego California to pursue their future in the music industry.
Counterfit consisted of James Dennis, Justin Rodriguez, Marc Allen, and Marc's brother, Adam Allen. The band released their first EP, On the Downside, in 2000 and replaced guitarist James Dennis (who left the band to attend college) with Daniel Reed. They released the From Finish to Starting Line EP in 2001. That summer, they played the Van's Warped Tour and returned again in 2003. Counterfit released their first full length album, Super Amusement Machine for Your Exciting Heart, in 2003.
The early 2000s saw Marc Allen and Counterfit playing alongside such bands as Tsunami Bomb, Saves the Day, Hot Rod Circuit, New Found Glory, Superdrag, The Mars Volta, Recover, and Finch. In 2004, the band played their last show together at Ground Zero in El Cajon with the band Noise Ratchet (who was also playing their final show).
Marc Allen and his brother Adam joined forces to launch their own project, Helen Earth Band. Marc Allen also became the drummer for Finch, replacing Alex Pappas. Marc's songwriting ability, combined with his skills as a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and pianist added a diversity of stylistic shades to Finch.
In 2006, Finch officially went on hiatus until 2007. Marc Allen did not rejoin them however, because he had moved on. He is still working with his brother on their project, The Helen Earth Band.
