Drum Channel is a vehicle to bring drummers and other musicians together.  It is for people who love to make music or listen to music. I have had the idea for years. What could be more fun than a place to hang with each other and the best players in the world? You get to know them and learn from them, and at the same time, we make sure they are fairly compensated for their work.

During the three years I have been developing this site, it has evolved greatly. The original model was a teaching site with bands performing to further enhances the lessons. The problem was I wanted students to be able to upload video, be in a class group, ask the teacher a question, and a list of other features. In short, I was asking much more that our in-house web designers could be expected to do. So a year into the project I decided, with the encouragement and support of Bonnie, to go all the way and design a community site that would allow us to do everything. A quantum leap, I might add, from the original teaching site. But how cool would it be to have our drumming community site also be the best site on the web?

The artist support has been phenomenal.  They want to do master classes, be in talk shows, and play with their bands.

Today Drum Channel has an incredibly talented team of performers, video engineers, audio engineers, web designers, and staff all dedicated to making Drum Channel the ultimate hang.

When asked to write this “About Drum Channel” copy, my initial thought was to say “it’s about you”, but everyone thought that was a little too short.
